Introduction

Oblique Engineering was founded, and registered as a ‘Sole Proprietorship’, in 1987. The Company’s initial business focus was the design and construction of diamond recovery plants.

In 1988 the Company expanded and was re-registered as Oblique Enterprises CC. In 2001 the Company again expanded and re-registered as Oblique Engineering (Pty) Ltd. As part of the expansion process the Company undertook contracts for customers involved in non-diamond related activities including PGEs and Chrome recovery plants – see details below.

The company currently employs 15 staff and approximately 30 contractors. All contractors and sub-contractors are retained in terms of project alliance agreements.

The Company specializes in providing turnkey engineering solutions to clients, from concept (or process flow diagrams) through to final handover; and contributes to concept proposals and bankable feasibility studies.

Oblique maintains strategic partnerships with companies covering all major project disciplines including civil and structural engineering, metallurgical engineering, and mechanical, electrical and instrumentation engineering. Project services provided by the company include design, detail engineering, procurement and construction management and commissioning assistance.
